While redesigning NAYA’s marketing materials, including event invitations, annual reports, and a website, we explored the contrast between distinctly Native American visuals and modern graphic design elements. Historical Northwestern Native American Art served as a reference for hand-drawn geometric patterns, careful attention to whitespace, and stacked layout structures. Those elements were complimented with modern typography, vibrant photography, and bright white paper stocks to create a distinct visual language, representing NAYA’s mission of enabling Native American youth to thrive in a modern environment while honoring cultural tradition.
